Filming locations - series 1?

Can anyone tell me where series one was filmed?

In particular the high street where Jill and Cath look in the jeweller's window, and the location of Jill's salon.

I always thought it was Bristol. Not sure though.

Late reply I know but the salon was in Hill Avenue, Amersham Buckinghamshire. I recognised it immediately as the town where I went to school.

"Stop listening to music made by poofs - Stick on some Elton John".
