Deserved to be a bigger film, a real guy tear-jerker

Not sure why this wasn't a bigger movie - it has everything you want - a great script, an Oscar-level performance from Sam Jackson (what a beautiful actor) and high production values. The sports action in this is great - i love the way it is filmed and clearly they cast actors who could ball (except for Channing Tatum who doesn't get the ball once in the film lol). There are 3 moments in this film where I had to hold myself back from shedding some tears - it's pretty rare that a movie can do that. Maybe the film wasn't as big because it had predominantly black cast? But that's dumb, I'm white and I loved this film - Sam Jackson is one of the great actors not just one of the great black actors..
