I have a few questions about the movie.

1. Why were the parents so upest about the contracts?

2. Why did Cruz regret leaving the team?

3. What goals did Carter have for his team?

4. Why was the community of richmond so upset Carter benched the team?

ok imma give this question a shot as im at work and booooored, and no one else has lol

1. The parents were upset because the state of California only requires high school students to have a 2.0 GPA, and Carter wanted them to get a 2.3. and to wear formal clothes on game days. maybe they thought it violated their rights, as he was asking for more than was required to play basketball in California.

2. He regretted leaving the team because originally he thought that Carter was being unfair and the team was going to lose regardless of how intense the practices were. Once he saw them win, he wanted back on the team.

3. the goals he had for the team were to win basketball games and get them all into college, or at least graduate high school.

4. Because high school basketball is the only real form of community in small places like Richmond.

come to think of it, did you watch the movie? this is all pretty much explained lol.

winner, winner, chicken dinner!

1. parents don't think there kids can get into college without using athletic abitliy to get into it.

2. he leaves the team to illegal things and see his cousin dying and he does not wan the same thing to happen to him. this why he regrets it.

3. the goal was to obit a 3.3 avg in a class and sit in front.

4. cause of the first reason

1. The parents were being asked to be responsible and hold their kids accountable. Apparently they weren't accustomed to such 'unreasonable' requests. They preferred status quo. Especially the parent who questioned why their kids had to 'dress up' (i.e., wear shirt and tie on game day).

2. Cruz realized that the coach meant every word he said and wanted what was best for the players. And he knew that life on the street would lead to no where ... probably to prison or death.

3. Carter wanted the team to become student athletes, graduate from high school and go to college.

4. Because the community wanted things status quo. They were pleased that the team had had a successful season but were outraged when Carter imposed consequences when several players violated conditions of their contracts.

Why don't you just watch the movie if you are so curious?

You probably have the answers already, but here are my thoughts:
1. They felt that basketball was so important to their kids because they felt it kept their asses out of trouble and in school, even if they weren't learning.
2. He saw the options on the street and they weren't good.
3. Carter didn't want them to just play and win. He wanted them to use the sport to better themselves. For example, wearing a tie on game day would show class and style, which they could then use when they work in good jobs.
4. Same as the parents. They felt that the team was more important winning than them getting a good education that could better their lives.
