Highschool kids playing detective? Well shot but so silly. Its like I'm watching bugsy malone

When you strip away the noir elements (which..why on earth would you?!) all Brendan does is ask Emily's new friends some questions about her, shows a big time drug dealer he is valuable, and uses that new connection to figure out what happened to his ex-gf.

Again, the dialog and plot points are all film noir. Just like real HS is not like this, 1950s Private Eyes never actually spoke this way either. It's just the genre. But the basic story isn't very silly, it's super basic and actually fairly realistic.
