fighting the curse...

The entire Grudge series of movies, along with the Ringu or Ring series confuses the living crap out of me.

Why doesn't anyone, any of the victims, or friends/families of the victims actually do research on fighting the curse...

It should be relatively simple. All one would need to do, is to dig up the body of Sadako and maybe the husband and child as well and poor blessed salt or holy water all over the body. That should be enough shouldn't it ?

Isn't it kind of ridiculous how everyone ends up falling victim to this curse, yet in the technology age, even with a library, people don't ever bother to do some simple research ?

I don't get it ?

When it comes to The Grudge, I don't think there's any way of stopping the curse. Doesn't matter what you do or even travel to another country, the curse won't stop until it gets you + it's bad news if you go to another country as well because if the curse is after you then the curse could cause trouble in that country as well. But for The Ring, there is a way to stop that curse from getting to you and that's basically making someone else watch the tape so then Samara can go after that person instead of you

It's been ages since I've watched the American Ring, but in the Japanese version they do try and dig up Sadako. They discover her body, and, I think, report it to the police. The whole twist of the story, though, is that the entire plot up to that point has been a red herring - you can only stop the curse by passing the tape to someone else, hence the title of the film.

Why is the curse so strong? what was she really? yes she was murdered in cold blood as with her son but I don't think that alone would produce this.
