I think there's definitely some significance to their names starting with AA and AB. Aaron = AA = looping back to the starting point. Abe = AB = moving forward in time.

There are also very nice colour clues as to Aaron and Abe's similarities and differences. Aaron is associated with red and Abe with blue to highlight their differences in character and motivation, very subtle stuff though.
