You know this movie wasn't bad ...
it wasn't i saw it on ppv i actually enjoyed who cares if justins in it big deal.

shareSWAT has nothing in common with Edison. SWAT was a failed action flick while Edison is supposed to be more of a crime/thriller with a few action scenes thrown in. IMO Edison is a much better film than SWAT in that SWAT was overly cliched and lacked the one thing it was supposed to provide... decent action. Edison wasn't a spectacular film but it was surprisingly entertaining and I thought McDermott gave a very impressive performance. Freeman and Spacey were themselves but their roles were actually quite small and it's obvious their names were used as the top billings in an attempt to draw a crowd. LL Cool J did a much better job here than in most of his other roles and I'm sorry but Timberlake just didn't do it for me. He wasn't terrible but he wasn't great either. And being a pop star doesn't help here either. I would have preferred if they had cast an unknown. Storywise we've all seen the great conspiracy before but I thought it was handled ok here. Nothing too original but nothing horribly bland either. I really liked the setting and cinematography though. The voiceovers on the time lapse sky shots were a very nice touch.
*SPOILERS*
If there was one thing that was overly cheesy in this film it was the flamethrower scene toward the end of the movie. That was totally unnecessary and ruined an otherwise decent shootout.
All in all Edison might not have been a perfect film, but it was actually a much better film than it's 5.1 rating at IMDB lends you to believe.
