How could this film have done better?

I saw this film, and I'm not sure if it's because I had extremely low expectations, but I found it a lot more enjoyable than some other action films I've seen in the past.

Clearly, it has its flaws.

You think the mash-up of actors didn't work well? Like, audiences couldn't take a movie with a heavy load of seasoned actors and musicians-turned-actors?

I think this film might have done better if it had been PG-13. They could've marketed this to a larger segment and tried to bank on the JT fans who would watch out of curiosity.

Or maybe they should've thrown Ashley Judd in there and called it a day.

This is purely speculation, of course.

I just finished watching it and all i can saw is wow. Now it wasnt the best film on earth but it was watchable and in my oppinion a great flick to watch with popcorn. the only disapointing thing for me was lack of character development!!!!!!

Just to take out Justin Timberlake and LL Cool J and put real actors and it would have been an excellent movie. It's hard to believe Oscar winners like Morgan Freeman and Kevin Spacey were at the background while those 2 pieces of cardboard were the main characters.

The story and action was quite good.

I also found this film enjoyable. It wasn't xactly very mind provoking and some kind of masterpiece to film - but I wasn't expecting that.
I do believe this film could have done so much better if it was marketed correctly -I only found out about it in the UK 3 months ago (when I saw it and rented it from my local video shop). Trying to find this film in HMV etc. to purchase is practically impossible, and everyone I have asked hasn't even heard of the film - they all think Alphadog was JT's first feature film (which was also marketed very badly here in the UK, just not as bad as this one was).

how can we make this movie better?

we can give depth to the characters, take an original story and give the good actors actually a chance to show what they're made of. Take out Timberlake and put in a good actor.
