Cliche through and through.

I didn't hate this movie outright, I was even mildly entertained, and it DID have some solid performances from Morgan Freeman and Dylan McDermott, but when I asked myself what made Edison special, I couldn't think of a single thing. Corrupt cops are brought to justice, corrupt officials try to cover their asses. Edison didn't even have a lame gimmick to cling to (aside from the fact that Edison is a fictional city, but they could just as easily replaced it with New York or Detroit and nobody would have been the wiser), and the story was incredibly predictable and uninspired. Also, if Edison wanted to count itself among the slew of brainless action flicks, they really short-changed us on the explosions and gunfights. This movie is destined to be re-run on MTV a few times and then quietly forgotten.
