Who do you see in the role of the journalist?

It's obvious that Justin wasn't made for acting... who do you think they should have gotten for this movie, instead of J T?

In my opinion Matt Damon should have been casted... this way I would have given it a 6 instead of 5... (though Kevin Spacey is my favorite actor... this film was poor... but I think he and Morgan Freeman gave their best, but it just wasn't enough to balance the poor script...)

Matt Damon is not a badsugestion. But I can't really say, because I didn't like the movie at all,I couldn't even watch it to the end.And I couldn't agree more, that Timberlake is not made for acting. He ruined it even more.

At first I didn't care too much for Justin in the role when I first heard that he was going to be in it. But I just watched the movie and I thought he did a great job. Was he perfect? No. But he wasn't horrible or bad and was believeable... at least better than I would've done.

But if I had to pick someone else in the role, I think Ryan Phillipe would've done a great job. They used to say that him and Justin favored but that's not why i picked him. I think Phillippe would've added more intensity and depth. Something Justin can't add as of this time but maybe can in the future.

I think Joshua Jackson would have been a good choice too.

Just watched this last night and he wasnt that bad, not great, but not bad. The film itself was actually quite lame and that didnt help, even some of the other seasoned actors didnt shine particularly well.

yeah, I agree with vince9. the plot was a bit thin and even the big names didn't live up to their usual standards but jt wasn't as bad as I thought he was going to be. he certainly won't be winning any awards any time soon but I thought he actually did quite well.

Hmm, perhaps Hayden Christianson - if you have seen Shattered Glass you will know he can play a journalist well.

Elijah Wood. The part needed to be done by a weaker looking person compared to everyone else in the movie. Timberlake fits this criteria, but Elijah would of been a much better choice.... seeing as he's an actor and Timberlake is not.

Yeh, I dno hey, personally I didnt mind JT in the role. He wasnt perfect, but he isnt a seasoned actor with a lot of experience under his belt, so making presumptions that he isnt made for acting is rather naive. He has done very well in the movies he has been cast in, well enough to warrant a lot more roles, just his singing career obviously takes priority and he can see himself making more money in that way.
Im not a fan of his music - at all, but I liked him in Alpha Dog and Edison Force. Looking forward to seeing how he goes in Southland Tales, a movie with a lot of big names in there, interesting to see how he gels, and what kinda role he plays.

I would have liked to have seen Damon tackle the role, but doubt his schedule would have been open for a role like this.
For what was on offer, I reckon JT nailed it, and you cant ask for much more. The movie was never going to be a box office smash with raving reviews, but the cast gelled pretty well, and I reckon the outcome wasnt bad at all.

I'd suggest someone who can act

Christian Kane, who should, btw, also be cast as Captain James T. Kirk in some future Star Trek movies.
