Why Does Eben...

(SPOILERS, of course) So, why does Eben decide to stay for dawn and die? After becoming one of them, does he just want to be dead? You'd think he'd hide from the light, and at least see if someone could come up with a vaccine, antidote, or whatever, for becoming a vampire.

I don't think finding a cure even crossed his mind. He didn't want to become a blood thirsty savage that will kill people. He wanted to do the bravest thing and just end it.
