Little girl...

Well I decided to sit down and watch the movie again last night since I really enjoyed it the first time. One thing I noticed that I didn't catch earlier was when they were looking for the little girl in the store she seemed to "phase" through the door out of nowhere. Did anyone else catch this or were my eyes playing tricks on me?

I saw it on TV today, and I was thinking the same thing.

So, sadly, I don't know the answer. But this thread needs a bump. =P

I also wondered where she came from. They also didn't recognize her which would be weird if it's a small town. Also where was the other little girl who showed up on Day 30 hiding all of this time. Was she on her own????

reply

About that girl walking around. I heard there is a deleted scene, in which she was hiding with her parents. The last day her parents are killed, and she gets away. Something like that.
But I still don't know about that teleporting one. =P

I'm thinking the girl in the store came with the ship.

she came with the other vampires(thats what i think)

there is strong evidence from the fact no one knew her and she had tattoos on each arm

reply

The little girl in the store is a vampire that came with the ship!

If she had come with the other vampires she would have spoken their language, not English...

Just re-read the comic. The vampire girl is one of Marlows buddies and she is in the first issue quite a lot.

I guess I have to read the comic then...

wrong.

the vampires can speak English its just that they choose to speak the vampire language

based on the fact she has tattoos would indicate she came with them

To the OP, yes your eyes WERE playing tricks on you.

If you have the DVD, pop it in and watch that scene again. When she runs off she heads into a closet or storage room of some kind. The door isn't closed, it's just pitch black in that room, which makes it look like the door is closed. You can tell for sure that the door is open when the camera pans closer to the door frame and you can see the small window in the back of the room that shows it's snowing outside.

Spoiler maybe......

The little girl and the lead vampires reminder that the head had to come off so they don't turn seemed to suggest they've turned people along their way. Maybe that was why the stranger seemed to think they would "honor him".

The girl's accent were not quite american. I think she was part of the clan. In the comic, there vampires were very mixed and there were children among them

reply

The little girl vampire was played by 9-year old actress Abbey-May Wakefield. She did her own wire stunts. There is a short excerpt with her on the DVD, under the special features section. Abbey-May could not stop giggling during her brief scenes!

Um, the door is clearly OPEN...

reply

The "teleportation" query has been answered correctly (the door was clearly open).

However I too would like to know how the girl spoke with a clean American accent.

reply

Well, children are more adaptable to accents and languages than adults are. Maybe that's why she could speak English with an American accent so easily. :D No, but seriously.... the vamps had their own language that they preffered to speak, that doesn't mean they couldn't speak other languages, like English. Perhaps they just didn't bother speaking English so much, because they considered themselves too superior. Marlow, the head vamp, does speak a couple of English words (no God), to mock his poor victim. And the little girl vamp might have been an American before she was turned, and and she might not have been a vampire for as long as the others either.

Anyways, I love the tattoo the girl has on her arm, it means she has good taste in music.

Maybe she spoke English before being turned. She came over on the ship & perhaps she was turned by one of the vampires in a European country.
