what was that mechanism on the truck/tractor thing?!?

What was that? I mean, the truck that Malakai totaled Stella's car with, toward the beginning. I think it's the same truck that Beau drives into that house, maybe three quarters of the way through the movie, to kill as many vampires as possible, and also distract them, so Eben could make it back to the police station...

OK, sorry, I got rambling there... I just want to know, what is that big rotating chain thing that sticks out of the front of the tractor/truck? What's it for?

hmmmmm, this looks like it could be the same vehicle. It's called a "trencher." For digging trenches, I suppose?

OK, when I check Google Images for the terms chain trencher construction equipment, I see a lot of vehicles that look similar to the one in the movie... I guess I answered my own question, but I will just leave this up in case anyone else finds it interesting.
