Wasted opportunity for a franchise, they could've made an awesome franchise out of this. In stead there's terrible straight to DVD sequels. I've not seen them but I really wanted to see what was next for these characters

I have no doubt they're (or it, since IMDB autofill only gives one other movie with a similar name) terrible, but don't you see the cognitive dissonance of calling them "terrible" and immediately saying you haven't actually seen them in the next sentence?
Of course, the plot given for the "sequel" says it follows Stella to L.A. Not a good omen when the title is still "30 Days of Night" (subtitle: "Dark Days") while taking place in a city famous for its sun. Amazingly, I actually recognize a couple names in the cast list, though Stella was played by someone new.
i thought the movie had an interesting premise and decided to watch it, the execution was really disappointing
