Japanese-American actor Mako dies of cancer at 72

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Japanese-American actor Mako, who was nominated for an Oscar for his work in the 1966 film "The Sand Pebbles," has died from esophageal cancer, the spokesman for a theater company he co-founded said on Tuesday.

Yet apparently he was working on the NEW TMNT movie and had completed his work as SPLINTER!!! What a kick ass role that like puts it right up there when he played the mighty Wizard Akiro in CONAN Really SAGE LIKE. THat is just great.
