why was haif an hour cut out?

so,

The US audience typically have short attention spans. Like in a TV show when you get a reminder of what just happened before the break.

I guess some people were confused with the whole non-linear, flashback version so a more straight forward version to appease the US audience.

reply

You're hilarious, Induna. Yeah, all of us Americans are idiots who can't remember anything from just a few seconds ago. Kiss my... Wait, what was I saying?

reply

Yup, us dumb Americans cant understand non-linear movies. We just don't get em! And no American would dare MAKE one! Nope, never.

reply

I can only hope that it was in order to avoid an x certification or something to that effect, because it contained too much gratuitous sex/nudity... I think I'll wait for the dvd.

My best guess is the Sci Fi Channel requested a 94 min. version so they could play it in a 2 hour slot with 26 min. of commercials. These days, the Sci Fi censors deal with nude scenes by blurring the offending boobs or buttocks. Follow the money!

reply

Sci Fi did not make the film. They just showed it.

I thought I had seen the wrong movie. I watched the scifi broadcast from start to finish and never saw Robert Forster once. Apart from that, I really enjoyed the cast. I think I need to see the whole movie. Would probably be a lot more cohesive.

reply

Um.....Robert Forester was in the very first scene...in the bar. He was picking up on Collette. ;-)

I'm watching it right now, on my DVR, from Sci-Fi.
