Please HELP!!!

I just bought the DVD and it SUCKS!!! The first time I watched this movie on cable tv it was different. It was a lot more linear without all the switching back and forth between past and present. I was wondering if anyone knows if its possible to get that better, more linear version on DVD? I'm so pissed off at the DVD version I've got.

Yes, the edited version is available on Amazon. I have the same unrated DVD you hate and love it for the same reason you hate it. OK, it takes some more concentration but for me that makes it more interesting. I think the unrated DVD has an additional 20-30 minutes. I watched it tonight for the second time in two days and am not finished.

There are two versions of the movie that I can find - one which is the "unrated undead" version and the other appears to be the edited one. I have both those DVDs and neither of them are the version I saw on cable.

I'm all for non-linear storylines - they did the same thing in the Grudge, but the difference is that the Grudge made sense!!! If I hadn't have watched Rise on cable first I would have been very confused with the DVD! First of all, the way the scenes are put together, its just a big god-damn mess. Perhaps put in a slightly different order, it would have been better. Secondly, they're missing some crucial scenes involving the detective's daughter, such as when her and her friend went to that house where they thought there was a party going on and it turns out Bishop and other vampires were there; and the scene when the detective gets to the crimescene where his daughter's body was found. I think those scenes are very important for the story to work.
