... Why Don't they Burn up?

I don't get it. The vampires in this film are on the run, they aren't portrayed as pulling the strings in government or anything. Yet when they are killed they don't burn up or melt or anything.

Wouldn't the police investigating all these murder scenes find fangs and *beep* and be like... "Errr?"

Because these people aren't the traditional "vampires" of lore. They do not have fangs, so they use knives. They can walk around in the daylight, but it's a minor irritation. They've been around for years, but it doesn't make them rich and powerful enough to be in control of the government or have their crimes go unnoticed.

Don't confuse these people as the vampires of "Blade". They are not. Do not confuse them for the vampires of Bram Stoker's "Dracula". They are not. If anything, they are like the vampires from the movie "The Hunger".

But this one's eating my popcorn!
