"Deprived of education"? I don't think so.
I find the Muslim kid's claim that his father was "deprived of education" rather silly. High schools and trade schools in France are free, colleges are subsidized by the state, the tuition costs are very low, and poor students get monthly stipends. What exactly prevented Majid from pursuing education on his own? The notion that he spent his entire life poor and miserable due to the Chicken Affair seems laughable to me. He has a decent apt in a clean building, he's not starving. Why all this over-the-top drama? Why did he commit suicide? Because his childhood pal became a TV presenter and he didn't? Give me a break.
