The photo makes no sense (Why do movies ALWAYS get this wrong?)

Have you noticed that whenever a movie depicts some kind of 'picture of something' or 'signature of something', it's almost always wrong?

Maybe Memento does a good job with this, but Idiocracy sure doesn't.

Please compare the MOMENT the camera flashes on 'Not Sure''s face, when he has his hand stuck in that 'interestingly-shaped' hole to the ACTUAL PHOTO they display.

Incongruency should've been the name of this movie. The face shown in that photo is NOTHING like the face you see in the actual situation, when that camera flashes. Why is this so hard to get right?

The photo we see is almost a relaxed POSING type, where he looks at the camera, making a 'slightly sad face', and that's all.

The situation, however, has him CLOSE HIS EYES TIGHTLY under extreme stress while his hand has been painfully hijacked by an insane machine, he's even gritting his teeth, if I remember correctly. NOT RELAXED AT ALL.

This mistake can be found in SO many movies, but I am disappointed in this one the most, because of the movie's theme. The moviemakers themselves should AT LEAST be more intelligent than that, instead of being so stupid and sloppy in their craft. A movie with this kind of theme should be crafted with extraordinary care with details, just like 'Top Secret!' and 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail' were. Just because it's a comedy, doesn't mean you can just be stupid and sloppy about everything.

It's exactly the masterful craft that MAKES the comedy so hilarious in those other movies. Why is this movie allowed to be so sloppily done?

You can see this kind of mistake in many movies, and it's always so frustrating. It treats the audience like some dumb kid who can't even understand what they're looking at, when even actual kids would actually point at that mistake and scream "That's NOT the signature we saw earlier!", when they watch 'Somewhere in Time', for example.

If you can't mimic the signature EXACTLY, then why not shoot the signature scene first, then USE THAT VERY SIGNATURE in every other scene where it's needed. Easy solution, but nope. People just don't want to make movies that make sense.

This is a semi-wonderful movie (the ending, as usual, is just a big, predictable letdown), but it sure has its own stupidities.
