Basically, when they try to force their religious beliefs on others, and the others tell them to go to Hell, they're being "persecuted".
No such force is possible in the USA. No one is able to "shove anything down anyone's throat" using the force of government.
One such area where persecution has been claimed is homosexual marriage. That issue was lost the day government became involved in the process via licensing. On the other hand, forcing someone in a non-government setting to perform a service that violates their religious beliefs is another issue entirely.
Now if Mr. Trump is elected, this may well change, as the force of government will be used due only to a religious belief. His low-intellect followers fail to see the problem when government is used against people based only upon religious views today, it can then be used against those holding other religious views tomorrow.
From Martin Niemoller circa the 1940's: First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

And you think it will be better if the lying, corrupt criminal Hillary is elected, Dark? She's a Progressive, and they're interested in CONTROLLING every aspect of our lives so that they can create their "Socialist Utopia".

Personally, I think it will be better if any of the Libertarian candidates are elected. I made the mistake of voting for the lesser of two evils in 2008 (McCain) and have studied political issues in detail ever since that election. I was a nearly 30 year GOP voter. Once I learned all of the bad laws that had passed just in that decade (I've mentioned some of these in another post here), they lost me as a voter unless they ran a candidate- such as Ron Paul- that opposed those types of laws. The GOP of course worked against him, the convention Rule 40 Mr. Trump has complained about originated due to Dr. Paul's popularity in 2012. A key difference between the two is that the media covers Mr. Trump 24/7, while Dr. Paul was basically ignored.
I found a site that allows you to input your values and it then matches you with the several candidates that are running. https://www.isidewith.com
When I took it, all the Libertarians were in the low to mid 90's, Mr. Cruz was in the high 80's, Mr. Kasich in the low 80's, Mr. Trump in the low 70's, and Mrs. Clinton in the low 60's. I don't think Mr. Sanders made it above 50%.
I would have voted for either Mr. Cruz or Mr. Kasich, but now I won't vote for either Mr. Trump or Mrs. Clinton. It's 2008 and 2012 all over again. I made that mistake once, won't do it again. The GOP will need to learn until such time as they either: 1) Run candidates that are truly for limited government, or 2) Dissolve as their predecessor the Whigs did in the 1850's and allow a party that is truly for limited government to gain momentum
They will not get my vote or the votes of the small but significant group of voters in close elections- which have been the case since 2000.
