Rachel Weisz vs. Michelle Williams vs. Amy Adams

Who should have won best supporting actress at the oscars? I think Amy Adams.

What do you think?

reply

Those 3 performances were excellent but if you want a ranking :

1/RACHEL tied with AMY(i was rooting for both of them;Rachel won but if Amy had won,i would have been happy too)

2/MICHELLE (an effective and heartbreaking performance as well but I just felt more for Amy and Rachel)

[SPOILERS]The entire Horror genre was destroyed by sequels[/SPOILERS]

Catherine's nod was a big joke!

Just get through the goddamn day. George Falconer

Why on earth did Catherine Keener even get nominated? Wasn't her role as Harper Lee a short one?

Personally I think Rachel deserved the Academy Award.

reply

She got in because she did so many films that year - off the top of my head, Friends with Money, The 40 Year Old Virgin, Capote, The Interpreter and The Ballad of Jack and Rose - and Capote was the obvious one to nominate her for because the Academy was Capote-crazy that year.

I think Rachel was deserving of the award, but at the same time, Michelle delivered such an emotionally naked performance, especially her big scenes (watching Jack and Ennis kiss/the argument in the kitchen) at the end of the second act.

I have a message for Germany...

Without question, Michelle Williams or even France McDormand- both were robbed!

Amy Adams was painful to watch in Junebug- I'm still shocked she was nominated for an Academy Award rather than a Razzie!!

Although I think Rachel Weisz is an amazing actress, I just didn't feel she earnt the Oscar for this performance.... Just my opinion

Do guys like "the thing"?
They like it better than no thing.

You're the only person I know who thinks this. I thought Amy Adams should have won. The role could have easily been overplayed to the point where you thought the person was manic, but she plays the role well enough that she doesn't cross that line.
