How she died?

I was just curious how his wife died? We see her truck turn over, but when we see her body it looks like she was burnt to death? And then somebody mentioned rape at one point.

Oooh Policeman Brown, never quite made Officer, why was that Policeman Brown?

I was confused about that as well, I assumed the car she was travelling in was blown up? I'm unsure though to be honest if anyone else knows I would really appreciate it.

From the film alone, we can't really tell. She could just have been shot or something. All dead bodies eventually turn black due to putrefaction regardless of the original color of the skin. Under hot and humid conditions like in Africa, decomposition occurs very rapidly - within hours. Also, direct sunlight does great harm to the skin whether the person is living or dead. We don't know how long it was before the body was discovered. If the body was exposed to dirct sunlight for a day or more, it could easily look like the person was burned to death.

If I remember correctly:

the book said that she was raped and almost beheaded.

I am reading the book now, and they have not yet got all the details, but what is clear from the beginning is that her throat was slit, and he corpse suffered from swelling due to exposure. In the book, her corpse was left in the car, where even hyenas couldn't get to it, so the heat caused damage to her corpse, but nothing else.
