Michael and Jan

I always hated how Jan acted like when she was with Michael she was dating beneath her and after they weren't together really out right said it. I may be in the minority, but I actually always thought Michael was too good for her. She kind of treated him like crap, and I kind of liked Michael, not all the time, but a lot of the time. He was weird, he had absolutely no concept of boundaries, and he didn't always get it. But he had a good heart and he was loyal. Jan on the other hand was a bitch.

Michael is an idealist, Jen is a selfish, manipulative, power-hungry, psycho mental case with issues, regular shrink appointments and blind faith in anything the shrink advices. Plus, she's a cigarette addict. It's hinted that she's also sadistic and masochistic, self-destructive and egotistical.

She's trying to compete against competent men in the workplace, while secretly wanting a family and kids (another poor bastard that blindly accepted the feministic dogma about women being happier without a family), which causes inner conflict, contradiction between 'feelz' and 'rationality' and all in all, an unsatisfying life, for which she is trying to use Michael as some kind of lifeboat to rescue herself from, only realizing that Michael is rather an anchor, pulling herself deeper to drown in her problems and issues.

Michael just wants a nice family life and a life partner, but ends up suffering greatly from her unreasonable, unresolvable madness, ending up more alone with her than when he's actually alone.

WOWSA!! What a description of Jan. I agree completely with your fine assessment. She’s also a sex fiend who craves bodies. Michael happened to be the “ flavor du jour” . It really annoys me that, at her baby shower, she so selfishly tells Michael not to date Holly.
I happen to think that “Hunter” may be “ Assy’s “ (🤣🤣🤣) bio dad.
