sharemeh I don't think the acting was bad at all. I think the character sucked. Why are we suppose to feel so much pity for her, that we allow her character to be a total bitch, and get off feeling like a victim half the movie.

A "savvy" man who has dated his share of bad women and is consequently "guarded" would be construed by the public--especially the female public--as a misogynist. share
I liked the casting of her. Remember too that, the nervious studio execs wanted to originaly cast a white chick. Yet, didn't out of hear of the backlash. They "settled" for her. Figuring that as the lesser of two evils.
There was a thread, that mentioned a white actor plaýing the role of Hitch. I wonder if they would've paired a white guy with a latino woman? Nevertheless, Will has always bucked the odds and excelled.
I loved the synergy between her and Will especially during the scene when Hitch was drugged up by the medicine and the other during the speed dating.
Overall, I had no problems.

i've seen this movie like 5 times and i swear i still don't understand what was so bitchy about Eva's character to you guys. in the beginning she was obviously someone who was afraid of love/relationships, which her co-workers and boss teased her about, that's why she seemed kind of hard to get initially. But after she got to know Hitch more she dropped her guards and she was sweet as can be all the way up until she thought that Hitch was responsible for that Vance guy dogging out her best friend. she was wrong obviously but the reason she was acting like she was acting was because she thought she was right. when she found out she was wrong she apologized and wanted to try and get back with Hitch but Hitch told her to get lost basically, lol. now the part where Hitch is basically begging for another chance and she's not receptive because she's just soooooooo mad that he didn't want her back when she came to him the first time was a bit much for me, lol, i didn't understand why she was so mad, he had every right to still be pissed at her and reject her. sidenote, the actress who played eva's best friend in the movie was so cute.
