What was his income supposed to be?

This movie was silly in a million and one ways, but I'll just start by picking on Hitch's fabulous wardrobe, his toys, his furniture, and that apartment in Manhattan. You'd need a comfortable 6-figure income to afford all that.

How much did he charge these poor losers? How many of them did he coach in a month?

Have another bite of popcorn and forget about it.

If it didn't say how much he charged or how many people he dealt with in a month IN the actual movie, how do you expect someone on here to know?

was being a date doctor his only job or did he have a steady 9 to 5 and just do the date doctor thing on the side?

reply

Well, if you look at one of the scenes in the movie when Hitch goes into his "office", there's a big whiteboard that says "Dynamic Dating Diagram." It had a bunch of names on it, so I suppose he must pull in like five a month. And if they're all like Vance Munson, he should be bringing in a pretty penny.

reply

You're right. Considering all that stuff in his condo, his income must've been really up there (that is, per client).

reply

Or he could have been a 2nd gen rich kid, inheritance etc.... could be any one of a million reasons... it only showed a small portion of his earlier life so who's to say he wasn't rich already.

reply

In the beginning, all he said was that he needed 3 dates.. which can typically last 2 weeks to a month... however, he can work with multiple clients during this period, so who knows

reply

I dunno. If you're a guy and you look like Albert, how much would you pay somebody to show you how to get a girl like Allegra? Then multiply that by say 3 or 4 clients a month?
Of course Albert was only a junior accountant, so how much could he reasonably pay? Really rich guys don't need this service, even if they're ugly.

reply

I would guess that Hitch earned 150 to 200k for his services annually.

He does make a comment early in the movie that he can bill his clients alot because of what he offers them.

reply

as he said when Sarah's boss said "I really have no idea what that means(in regards to his description of work)"

"That's why I get to charge so much."

If you can provide someone with something they think they need, they will pay almost anything. Especially lonely guys going after a hot chick.

Dating Coaches make generally between $75-$125 an hour.
