She talks to one scumbag and that somehow proves that Hitch is only doing this so men can sleep with hot women! She is supposed to be this "sharp, intelligent, hard hitting" journalist but she gets none of the facts straight!
I like this movie...but I hate her character!
It's completely understandable.
#1. Her close friend was involved
#2. The guy that she thought lead to her friends situation turned out to be the guy she was falling for.
#3. She is a gossip journalist. As she said(or something like it) "it's not like I'm working for the DA"
If you work in the news business, it's not understandable. She needed more than one skeevy source. She didn't really do any other digging and so her evidence is mostly hearsay or misunderstood pieces of information. I work for a newspaper and she lost her cred with me.
"Married? Goody-Two-Shoes and the Filthy Beast?!"
This movie was lame for reasons like that and many others. And Eva Mendes is a terrible actress.
