Who is Slater imitating now?
He spent the first 10 or so years of his career pretending to be Jack Nicholson. In this film he is clearly trying to channel someone else. It really doesn't sound authentic to me. Maybe because I spent a good part of the film listening to it without watching it due to a project I had to work on. I kept thinking, "Who is that now? I know that voice." When I looked over and saw that it was Christian Slater, I realized it was another one of the "impressions" he does as a substitute for acting. Sounds like M.C. Gainey from Lost, but that's too obscure of a reference for him to pick. Maybe James Garner?
