Deserves much better than 6.8/10 ...

... which is where it is right now.

They don't make this kind of interesting detective/social commentary type of film too much anymore, at least not at this level of detail. There are a lot of great characters and performances here, including Alec Baldwin as a Trump-like character, but with both good and bad points.

The only thing that bothered me a bit was the relationship. It seemed too fast, too unlikely and a bit patronizing to her.

Also think this could be a very good TV series, maybe better than as a film because you could have him more gradually uncovering official corruption.

7/10. I enjoyed it as well. As for the Baldwin character, while he does espouse Trump like dialogue from time to time, it appears they took inspiration from real-life architect and city planner Robert Moses. He pretty much built modern New York City, held a lot of influence over the city government, and was a racist as well.

Interesting. Appreciate the info.

Yeah there's a seminal biography written about him named The Powerbroker if you're interested.

Thanks. More interested in my own city's history.
