This movie was 50 times better than chronicles of narnia, which felt like every other disney fantasy movie ever made, they toned down everything so much that there was no bite to the ice queen villain and Aslan got resurected too quickly. I loved Harry gregson willam's music though.

too bad the studio did what they did to the directors original intended cut.

New line and fox are notorious for screwing up adaptations and franchises the Lord of the rings films and the first 2 emen movies and first class were a fluke

FOX:
Eragon didnt adapt the book too well
Xmen: the last stand, rushed into production
City of ember (see xmen the last stand and eragon)
Daredevil(ruined directors R rated cut)
Babylon AD: (did the same that new line did to goldne compass both novels have a very similar plot)
HITMAN(same as golden compass)
AVPR(same as what new line did with dungeons and dragons

NEW LINE
Messed up the ANOES franchise by going in so many directions
Golden compass,(same as babylon ad)
Dungeons and dragons (cheaped out and rejected the BEST SCREENPLAY the director wrote to save money despite the fact that you cant make a DRAGON movie for $15,000,000)
Mortal Kombat: Anihalation, I dont need to explain
wanted to do ALL of lord of the rings as 2 two hour films FACEPALM

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe was much better than The Golden Compass. And I'm atheist.

Prince Caspian and Voyage of the Dawn Treader, however, were absolutely horrible, pointless messes of cinematic pap. They were, indeed, worse than The Golden Compass, but not by very much.

Dawn Treader's $416 million box office haul says hello.

Anyways, Golden Compass was visually beautiful, I just felt the story lacking. But I would still watch the sequel if it came out. It wasn't all that bad.
