Hollywood seems to be re booted all the other franchises, could they do the same with this?

I hope so the books are amazing and i would love to see the series rebooted

HBO should make a series. My opinion anyway. They wouldn't be afraid to do it now that some time has passed.

While His Dark Materials would, like pretty much any project, benefit from the freedom and budget of a HBO production, I'm not sure it's at all the kind of thing they'd be interested in.

His Dark Materials is, first and foremost, a children's series. There's little to no violence, no language and no sex, three things HBO usually relies on to sell their otherwise quite high-brow shows.

Absolutely. And unlike many franchises that are rebooted, there would actually be a good artistic reason for rebooting this one: the original film massively diluted the main message of the books.

In terms of artistic value and budget, Netflix would be the best option.

It has been announced today that the BBC will be doing an 8 part adaption of the entire trilogy!

Well that's fantastic news. The way the books are structured definitely feels more suited for television instead of a film. I wonder who will be cast?

It's the BBC so it will most likely be awful
