Should be nominated Razzie Award: WORST SEQUEL

I truly liked the first Miss Congeniality movie. It was funny and "Gracie Hart" was absolutely charming with her blowzy hair. And then this happened... ruined everything i have ever thought about Miss Congeniality. In the sequel Gracie turned out to be a disgusting stupid bitch, just the perfect copy of those girls she, herself, hated in the first movie. In the mean time "Sam Fuller" was the character who filled in Gracie's part.

Oh, and the first movie's happy ending was "killed" too. I guess Benjamin Bratt refused to do the sequel, which was made because of money, i guess.
But was it all worth it?

Two words about the film: disappointment, and CRAP.

c'mon... get a life
there're worse movies than this one.. AND U KNOW IT...

That's not a valid rebuttal, pauvemo , AND YOU KNOW IT...

I too loved the first MC. but when I saw the trailer for MC2, I decided to avoid it at all costs.

Sandra Bullock has never faired well with sequels!

Aren't we all tired of signatures?!...
Ok, I can't think of anything smart!!

The first was definitely superior, but I didn't hate the sequel. I still walked out of the theater feeling entertained. She has the ability to do that regardless of the material. I thought it was a very good ensemble piece and their individual performances made up for what the script lacked. The difference was that the first seemed as if it really could have happened. It had a serio/comic tone, but the sequel seemed somewhat slapstick, so it was a bit removed from the tone of the first. Regardless, I still enjoyed it.

Oh please! The movie was made to entertain people which in my case it certainly did, fair enough it wasn't as good as the first one but I still enjoyed it and had some laugh out loud moments. It isn't supposed to be some deep, meaningful movie made to change your life.

As for saying how Gracie changed into a Barbie, that was the whole point of the story! She changed because she felt that that was all she could be in her job and was easily brainwashed until she saw what really mattered to her.

P.S. Disappointment only has one 's'

First of all, sequels are always made because of money.
But here also, diferent director, and most of the big ones in the first are gone, like Michael Caine and Benjamin Bratt.
Its a shame.

I know what you're saying, but I think this thread belongs in the Legally Blonde 2 forum, lol.

Overall, this film was just ok, imo. But I really had to get beyond those first few minutes with what they did to Eric's character! I realize it became somewhat vital to the story and Gracie's development in this film, but it just did not fit with the good guy image created in the first film. I just couldn't imagine Eric doing that kind of thing...

And Gracie losing her accent was a bit annoying. Even in the pageant she had it.

But aside from that, the movie was tolerable imo. It would have been difficult to match the heart of the first film without all of those original actors. I don't think I could sit through it again. In contrast to the original which I could watch just about anytime.

I disagree...if there is any movie that deserves a "Razzie Award" for worst sequel in history then it's Home Alone 4:Taking Back The House...just terrible:Marv is a genius, Kevin's parents are divorced,Kevin's dad is fooling around with another woman, most of Kevin's siblings are gone...the only one I remember remaining is Buzz who is now about 12 while Kevin is now 8, and few if any actual bad guy bashing the whole plot is lame too as it revolves around a Prince from a foreign country visiting Kevin's neighborhood so Marv (who is described as the smart one while Harry is described as the dumb one)and his wife/girlfriend(never firmly established which)who is the dumb one in this movie(Marv claims he "split" from Harry).

Oh, and whereas in the first two films where Kevin refused to back down from Buzz when his older brother bullied him.....he cries because Buzz glares at him.

Slobberknocker!
