soundtrack! or music in the film

hey i was wondering if there was a soundtrack released for this film? and if nobody knows that atleast what was the girl band from the 70s/80s that emily's mother was always listening to and trying to imitate. i really liked the songs. i meant to stay till the end to catch them but i forgot..

any info would be great!

Was curious to know the same thing as it is a brilliant sountrack - apparently it hasn't being released (bummer), well last time I checked the stores anyway. The answer to your other question is Patti Smith from the album 'Horses', a seminal NY punk group from the seventies. Very worth having in any case!

Which is pretty stupid (if you'll excuse me :-p) because the song Free Money by Patti Smith IS the song played during the credits! You liked it so much and you didn't notice it was playing when the movie ended and the credits started rolling? lol

I am really wanting to know what that Kiri Te Kanawa song that plays when he is in the den is called? Is there a soundtrack coming out at all?

reply

That Kiri Te Kanawa song is Chants d'Auvergne - Series 1 Bailero, by Joseph Canteloube.

I was quite taken back at this film, beautifully storyline and actors that convinced.

As to the music, does anyone know the song from the funeral sequence?

reply

It's 'Into Dust' by Mazzy Star.

I was so surprised to hear that song in the movie.

Thank You!

hey, yeah that patti smith stuff was great, does anyone know what the song that was played when jax was in paul's bedroom is called?? It had a creepy spoken intro. Johnny something maybe??

reply

Besides the Patti Smith stuff, the song that was on 'Cilia's Musik' tape is Full Of Stars by Turin Brakes, which can be found on their second album Ether Song. Its one of my favourite summer songs as it goes, so i was delighted to hear it in the film - which was excellent IMO

not sure if this is helpful to anyone but the two Patti Smith songs are called 'horses' and 'free money' both of that horses album mentioned earlier.
