Does anyone know when and if this wonderful film (MM is beyond brilliant!) is going to be released in the US and then sold as DVD US region? Many Thanks!!!

The release date has been repeatedly pushed back, so I fear it's going to follow the path of another ocenian hit "Somersault", and not be released till the end of next spring, not finding an audience as the hype of summer looms over. Hopefully this will be released within the year, and yes, people owe it to themselves to see this great, completely uncommercialized feature in theatres.

LA Times just reported that the US release date is now December 31, 2006...in time for Oscar contention perhaps??? Maybe that is why it has not been released yet in the US...after researching the rules for submission for Oscar contention, it would make sense...

December 31, 2006: it's a sunday - which doesn't make any sense. So they just put in that that, because they don't have any new information...

Don't think it would be released with fanfare or premier, as it's a two year old foreign film...!

I ordered in my fathers den a couple of weeks ago from amazon.co.uk. I live in America and have what I thought was a region 1 dvd player. But check out this site..

I found a code to "hack" my player, and lo and behold, my player is already equipped to play any region dvds. Received my dvd from amazon, typed in a few numbers on the dvd remote and it plays perfectly.
