Music?

Does anyone know what the name(s) of the music from this movie are i loved all of it, and was wanting to have it in my possesion.

reply

The soundtrack must be available somewhere, though watching the movie I recognized Patti Smith, Turin Brakes, and Canteloube's Songs of the Auvergne.

If you haven't listened to Patti Smith before-I'd recommend Horses, which if I recall, is the album cover they show in the film. Easter is a great album too.

'Horses' by Patti Smith contains the track 'Land' that the young girl dances to in the bedroom - and it's a belting track, too. I'd sure love to get the soundtrack to this, too, but it doesn't appear to have made that much money for a release to be warranted. Perhaps, even, the royalties would be too high?

Does anyone know what song is playing when Celia is listening to music through headphones when she is first found in the den? It has these light kind of jazzy keyboard bits running through it.

reply

Kiri te Kaniua (sp?) was the opera singing when young Paul went into the den.

reply

Her name is Kiri te Kanawa ;)

And there are two amazing tracks from Mazzy Star too...

reply

The song Celia is listening to through her headphones in the den is "Full of Stars" by Turin Brakes.

go to the official IMFD website, and in the production notes is a listing of the songs. You can download the Kiri Te Kanawa and Mazzy Star tunes from iTunes. I did! The one that Celia is listening to is a Mazzy Star song called "look at the stars" I think. Good luck
