Unrealistic !?

Complaining about the film not being realistic (they can fly, she only dies after ages, he fights with a dagger in his back, she just slept with another guy after only three days...) hasn't so much meaning to me.

I think that we should watch and take this film as a fable, a tragedy, a tale about love. Nothing more.

Otherwise, it's as saying Snow White's tale is unrealistic because she should not survive the poisoning only with a kiss. Oo That doesn't make any sense.

"Shi mian mai fu" has incredibly beautiful and dreamlike landcsapes, soundtrack, lovestory.... It isn't just an asian movie with fights a gogo. As a dream about love, it has not to be absolutely realistic. It's very good as it is.

(Plus the acting wasn't bad at all, and there aren't huge plotholes...)

I'm not a romantic girl, but I could really enjoy this movie sooo much.

Yeah I just saw this film as a fantasy adventure. It shouldn't be taken too seriously.

I did find the love aspects of the film quite strong and I really cared about what happened to them. It was a tragic ending - almost Shakespearian in the fact that none of them got what they wanted.

The only thing that irked me was the knives that flew around in circles and arcs. Knives can't do that, they can only fly straight.

There is a lot to this film that doesn't make sense to many, but to me it all makes sense! This is one of the films that you are supposed to appreciate as it is, not ruin it by thinking the details to the max. Without those unrealistic parts it wouldn't be what it is.
If you want everything to be completely realistic, I wouldn't recommend Zhang Yimou!

This movie was so beautifully made things like that didn't bother me. I knew it was a fantasy, and fantasy can do things like that. It felt like I was being told an old Chinese tale about what was shown, about action, adventure, and romance. The way this movie was done made me feel so part of the characters, what they were going through... There's probably more I felt like saying I can't concentrate enough now xP

I just take the movie as being fantasy, thus anything in it works for me. It was a great movie.

its an Asian Fantasy film? Do you ask if Frozen is realistic? do you ask if Avengers was very realistic? Are terminator films in anyway realistic? Give me a break!
