Sex and Violence?

First timer here. I bought the complete series at Walmart for a whopping 24$. Me and my wife are watching our way through GOT and I wanted to watch Sopranos. But I saw this a bought it. Everything I've heard was good. Only negative thing is how it was cancelled and short lived. So what do I expect as far as sex and violence? Let's say As far as HBO goes they don't hold back. But from several sources I've read says Rome is the ranks the highest as far as sex and violence. But does that really top GOT?

What I meant as far as Sopranos goes I've seen the show a thousand times it never gets old. I just wanna watch something new and fresh

Depends on the scale you use. I don't remember much sex in The Sopranos, so I'd rate them a 4/10 on the sex/violence continuum. Spartacus on STARZ gets a 10/10 for both sex and violence. Maybe even 12/10! Rome I think is about 7/10.

I have just started to watch GOT. The level of useless sex scenes and nonsese violence makes me depressed. In comparision to this Rome is moderate and funny. Greatest entertainment on tv and the highest quality achieved in 100%. Read a little bit of history to understand better the plot. I mean, you will have much more fun. I've been also watching the other historical series: Borgias (both) Tudors, Medici, Versal. Comparing the the latest ones, the action is very dense and events run quickly. You will not have hours spend on debating what to do or what was done. Take under consideratoion that the accuracy of the details, the depiction of ancient city and customs is incomparable to any other historical show. On the other hand, due to fabular reasons and in order to wrap up the story, some historical inacuracies occur, but it does not affect the historical truth in general. For example I may complain, that Mark Antony was robbed of some great scenes to the favour of Gaius Octavius but despite this the characters' depiction complies with the image left by the historians.

Yeah from what I've seen on Spartacus it was a 12/10. Just outrageous amount of sex and gore. I'm excited on starting my Rome adventure soon
