If you were a slave in ancient Rome, you'd be happy for the protection of ANY man strong enough to provide it. I never had the idea that Eirene was "in love" with Pullo, only that she thought him the best option she had.
shareNice to see you again, Nomad. That is true. I forget Eirene is not like the modern woman nor did she seem to love Pullo. Slave status aside, she did like him though. In an age of arranged marriages, liking someone is already a lot better than being forced to marry someone you don't like. And yes, Pullo turned out to be a very good protector until the other slave girl appeared.
