Why is his robe black, as opposed to the white robes of the Senate?

He is a Stoic and he had very hard beliefs. You should Google him and learn more. He was a interesting in real life. He hated Caesar with passion, because Caesar slept with his wife and his half sister Servilia. Cato parents died when he was very small child and he was uncle to Brutus

You should really get the DVDs. They're loaded with extras that you won't get from Amazon. I mean, they have more extras than any other set I have ever owned. Even pop up text telling you the historical part of it.

Cato's robes are one of the many things you learn about the show. A lot of it, you have no idea until they tell you.
