In the first season Spenny seemed like a calm, fairly normal kind of guy with a few paranoid and neurotic sides. But all in all, pretty normal.
He gradually as the show progressed became more and more eccentric, paranoid, neurotic and dumb to the point that make me believe that he at least have some mental health issues.
Either he had a nervous breakdown from how much he is *beep* on the show or he's acting.

shareAlso you can't forget when he thought he had AIDS and got multiple BJ's from a transsexual. Spenny deserves a break, if I was him I would be kind of messed up too.

Does Spenny have issues? Probably, but don't we all? Spenny plays up his neurotic character for the show to counter Kenny's megalomaniacal one.

If the show is in any way indicative of the guys' personalities, I'd say that Spenny has some anger management issues, nothing else. He's a bit on the melancholic side, too. But the paranoia is completely warranted. If you know something is gonna happen to you, it's not paranoid - it's expecting. ;)
