I thought it would be horrible too, until I watched it (which from your post, I'm guessing you haven't). It was actually pretty enjoyable. Silly and more than a little predictable, but overall, not that bad.
Nothing anyone says about a book, movie, etc., for or against, beats experiencing it for yourself.
