cut scenes?

i looked up the dvd, and it doesn't have the deleted scenes! wtf? i liked the movie, but i only like it as much as i do knowing that there were, somewhere out there, deleted scenes that would be put back in on the dvd. and now they're not there. anyone know about a special edition dvd to be released at a later date?

Sadly, not every movie includes deleted scenes when released on DVD. Though I'd be willing to be that every movie has deleted scenes, even those that are animated. Course how many of the movies beyond a certain age still have deleted scenes to be added to a DVD is probably a question we may never have answered.

It's nice to have deleted or extended scenes as a part of the special features on a DVD, even if that's the only special features there are. But sometimes there aren't any special features. Other times the features are just a set of filmographies for the principle actors and actresses in the movie. A bit of a waste in a day and age when most folks have access to the internet, allowing them to look that up before a movie is even released. Then there are documentaries, music videos, trailers, featurettes, photo galleries, and write-ups for special features.

On top of that there's easter eggs. Sometimes special features are themselves easeter eggs that need to be unlocked to view them.

Because you think they had so much material that they had to actually cut scenes?

it's not just my opinion - there are several missing scenes. for example, remember when the kids got their superhero names? jack left them in a hidden room so they'd be safe. cindy was wearing a pink poodle outfit. next time you see them, cindy's hair is different and she's wearing the institutional yellow jumpsuit. at this point, they're in the custody of the military. one would assume that there's a scene in there that would explain how they got caught. there are a couple other similar points in the movie where there are scenes missing, but this one is the most obvious and easiest to explain.

Every movie has something cut from it. It's best if it gets cut before it's ever filmed, but there's always something filmed that gets cut. The main reason seems to be length. If a movie is supposed to be a certain length, or if the director feels the movie is too long, then scenes that aren't felt to be all that important to the film. Other reasons may be because a scene doesn't make sense, it's felt other scenes already explain what a cutscene was going to explain, or a cutscene slows things down.
