Zoom or 'the musical montage movie'

This movie had good music but I think they had a little "musical montage overkill." Agreed? I mean why stop there, why not break out "wake me up" by Wham with Chevy Chase being bullied yet again by the kids. That would have been awesome. Can anyone else come up with any other cheesy musical montage moments this movie either forgot or just didn't have time to cram down our throats?

That irritated me.

Every time when the movie had potential to fully show the team's training, it becomes a weakly edited montage that is just an excuse to showcase the soundtrack (which judging by the movie's box office progress, didn't sell). It was also a dumb idea to play a song during the final battle. It made the scene even cornier. Was a dramatic music score too much to ask?

This movie was definitely chopped to death in the editing room by the studio, just to make it 83 minutes because hey, all kids have short attention spans, right? (sarcasm)

Zoom was at least 90% of montages. It would have been a lot better in the hands of another studio.

Weird is the new normal.
