Problems playing the DVD on the computer.

I watch DVDs on my computer using InterVideo WinDVD 4.0.

When I tried to watch "ZOOM" it crashed the program. This also happen with "OPEN SEASON". Both movies are distributed by Sony, but I don't see any other connection. I have watched over a thousand DVDs on my computer without any problems.

Has anyone else had this or another problem playing DVDs on their computer?
Is there some copyright protection that would interfere with the software?

ETA: Was able to watch it using Windows Media Player 11

Yes! I have the exact same problem too! Strange. I wonder why. All DVD's I have used since works perfectly with Intervideo WinDVD 4 - except this movie. Hmm.

Sony is using a new copy protection system to "combat piracy" and mess with their public. They introduce bad sectors into the disk! Ironically enough, to just WATCH their DVDs on computers now you have to download piracy software.

I work in a video store and out of the three copies of the movie that we have since it came out all three having trouble playing or starting the movie over again.

Had the same problem when I bought the movie new and both DVD players at the house have troulbe at first to load the movie

I had trouble playing it on my Audiovox portable DVD player. It took a long time to load and before that it was a black screen then blam, Sony logo.

I can play this film on my laptop with no problems but I can't play it on my DVD player. It is an older RCA DVD player and it always gives me an incompatible disc error message.

There are only 2 that I can think of that the DVD player has done this on.

Can't get this movie to play in your DVD player? Doesn't sound like a problem to me. Consider yourself lucky.

This DVD wouldn't play in my VCR at all. Zoom made the microwave burn my popcorn too dammit
