Perry is too much of an idiot to have been "in on it." If he's not the idiot he seems to be, then he needs an Academy Award.
He's more of a flake than Melrose Larry Green, for heaven's sake.
I agree, everyone elses performance except his was a joke, if he was in on it than he does deserve an award.

shareIf it was all fake and he was in on it, why isn't he now working for Kimmel or Carolla's show like Barbieri or Big Lou? Or working on other things, like any of the other fairly big name people in this movie? Why is he still playing the joke 5 years after the film came out and not using it as a spring board to do other things? Why isn't he on to bigger and better stuff?
I think it's completely real. I think the poor guy has some form of brain damage that makes him seriously deficient socially and unable to distinguish reality from fantasy. If he's that good of an actor as everyone in here suggests, he would capitalize on that. A real actor who was "in on the joke" would have moved on by now and not sacrificed their career and well-being to keep up a joke from a low-grade TV movie that came out half a decade ago.
