Terminal Velocity

Is it possible to reach the terminal velocity and still have time to recover like he did in the movie?

Isn't terminal velocity reserved for free falling objects? recovery could happen in a machine, not from a free fall.

Totally unrealistic, even reaching such thing as that "terminal velocity" I don't believe she would have survived such violent freefall or even going through with that while still above at some 35000 ft without losing consciousness.
