Ok, The lightning strike that makes EDI sentient & able to do what it wants IS the main point in the plot that the fictional action story starts but check out this news story.

It's about The U.K.'s new fighter jet, Taranis, named after the Celtic god of thunder, unveiled at BAE Systems in Warton, Lancashire, on Monday.

Now tell me that isn't a case of a real life "Stealth" scenario?

In 2005, when this movie was made, this story was science fiction. And to some extent, it was, but under wraps at Area 51 was a real robot jet being tested like EDI. And of course now, there are at least 2 or 3 American-made robot jets like EDI that can maneuver and think all on their own with their own built-in AI, in addition to the British Taranis. And this says nothing about what the Russians or Chinese have under wraps.
