Would the Koreans really have been that hostile?

I thought the war was over...

They should have given her a cup of tea and sent her on her merry way.

I wish I could think of something witty to put here... but I can't.

You really are clueless aren't you?

First off, The Korean War is not over. A state of war still exists between North and South Korea. When the war "Ended" it was with a cease fire agreement, not a peace treaty. The Korean war is the longest running cease fire in the history of warfare but it is still a state of war.

Second. NorK's are highly territorial and paranoid and don't take kindly to foreigners inside their borders.

But thanks for clearing that up.

Nothing wrong with being clueless LOL
Clueless is just another name for ignorance. and there is nothing wrong with ignorance so long as you have an open mind.
There is no such thing as a stupid question.

Ignorance is simply not knowing any better.
Stupidity on the other hand is knowing better, yet doing it anyway!

The first I saw this movie I was half-way expecting the ROK to blast through the DMZ and rescue the American pilot.

No, not in a million years. They would never just try to kill an American fighter pilot. They would kidnap her and torture her to death, but not just kill her. There is no country in the world that would just try to kill a person with as much information as her. Would not happen. They could also exchange her for $100M or something like that. Just killing her is pointless as she would not survive the wilderness anyway and she didn't actually steal any information from them, so she didn't even need to die.
