Mr Veeck's attempt at trying to gain 'favour' from Dahlia.
Not sure if anyone else noticed, but did anyone catch the scene that occurs after Mr Veeck, the building supervisor finally "fixes" and patches up the leaky roof??
Dahlia says to him something like: "I don't know how to thank you"
To which Mr Veeck gives her a sly smile and says: "well you could give me reward of some kind". (maybe not exact quote)
It was clear Veeck was trying to imply a sexual favour of some kind.
But then Dahlia, either she didn't understand what he really meant or perhaps she DID understand and pretended not to notice, offers him beer or coffee instead.
She says: "I'd offer you beer but I don't have any. Would you like some coffee instead?'
To which Veeck (with a shocked look in his face that she didn't understand him and was clearly not going to get his "reward") declines the coffee and walks out.
I just found that scene rather amusing. You could easily miss it, but if you were paying attention it was so obvious what the guy was trying to do.
