I don't understand why it's rated R...
They only say the F word once, and I think that's the only swear word in the whole movie. And there's not a whole lot of violence or blood.

The themes are adult and the violence portrayed is realistic. The film is dark and needs an adult to explain what's going on. It dangerously exploits mental illness in my opinion. Maybe we as society need to know the dangers of mental illness, but is it entertainment? Very scary. Now the movie has a low critics rating because some of the non scary action is unbelievable.
